Joe Dever's Lone Wolf App Reviews

What a shame !!

The levels of it are too hard to win the fight.

Great game

Excellent game I, but a bit expensive as far as apps go and sometimes doesnt slow down attackers for defensive dodge/blocks or will freeze several times briefly. Although Im unsure if its the game or my device.

Amazing!!

The graphics are astonishing as well as the game play never seen a game book so well done my only thing that was annoying but not horrible was there was a boat load of combat which even kinda made the game more fun and not just a book but yea down load I beat it and it took me about 2 months

Classic, great story, way too hard!

There is a deep, enriching storyline that is appropriate for Joe Dever, but the combat is way too hard, repetitive, and detracts from the storyline after a while. The random encounters while meditating just make it even more frustrating. Great story ruined by poorly planned combat.

Greatest game

Its so awesome but I wish the stories would be cheaper but I still like the game

Brilliant

Most immersive combat Ive ever seen in a game, engaging use of equipment, beautiful, funny, and tragic story. And the best part? Once you finish you can go back and make all completely different decisions! It is all around brilliant but the only way to truly know is to download it. Support the Kai. It is 100% worth it.

Impressive and beautiful!

Just bought the season pass and continue with this game. For me, this is really a fresh and interesting game that keeps me playing it. The art design, music, graphics are simply amazing and enjoyable. Of course, the combat are quite difficult at first, but after learning and getting used to it, the game can be fun and challenging at the same time. The price is a bit high compared to many other apps, but worth every penny. Hope there will be more games like the Lone Wolf. Nice job

Love love love

Exactly the kind of mobile RPG Ive always wanted just sad that its over very high replay value from me and an amazing story heavy reading for those who like reading and good fight sequences

Fun and addictive

I have fully enjoyed this game. Puzzles, Story, and classic gaming combat make this well worth the price. The Turn Based combat is reminiscent of classic Dungeons and Dragons and the Final Fantasy franchise interpretation of AD&D. This is the perfect transition and next logical step. Incidentally, the transition graphics between the Tome and the video game combat really make the overall concept cohesive, well done Sirs. I have iPhone 6 v9.0.1, the app has crashed/ locked up on me 6 times ( I finished Act 2: Forest Hunt) Not a huge deal, only a few minutes of time lost each. I was lucky I had been to a save point recently. Restarting your device may help, but this is a guess, I will update my review later. The game is combat heavy which is just fine, but a bit light on mystery though the Ancient Temple and its artifacts and puzzles does spark interest. Overall, its well balanced. Thank you Sir Dever and the crew at BulkyPix, I love it. Please make more soon! P.S Make good use of stun combos (except on lizards/undead) and End. potions. Also dont forget upgrade and repair your gear. The system takes some learning but it is fun after you get it.

Easily one of the best games!!!

Love this game, it is like the old choose your own adventure books meets the 21st century... On steroids! This has a great story, incredible replayability, this would be like taking a Tolkien book, and letting you be what the story is about. (I kind of think it is 1 player D&D) Story moves quickly, and is well thought out, combat is turned based (think old final fantasy) but requires user skill to actually pull off the attacks. (Timed touching of targets and swiping) Try the chapter 1 to see if this is your type of game, then buy the other chapters if it is (this is one of the few that is worth the bucks). This game rules!

Okay

I would like there to be better way to recover so that new battles are possible to win. There is almost no where to purchase items so I cant restock weapons, upgrade and so on. Its no fun just dying without anything available to help improve my chances. The first level is made a lot easier I feel. Then after youve laid down the money, it becomes much too difficult.

The best game ever

The is one of the most addictive game and amazing game I ever played in my life it deserve 10 stars it worth every piny I pay on it

Awesome!

Faithful to the original books. This takes me back to my childhood!

Great game, great books

A wonderful, detailed, well-thought through adventure/RPG/CYOA game, based on the excellent books from the 80s. Tons of fun.

Fantastic

This is a great chose your own adventure experience that you could only achieve on a mobile platform. Really enjoyable

Great

This game has puzzles, reading, decisions, quick time, fighting, a lot of verity, a great story that has so many different choices, and is one of the longest game apps Ive ever seen.

Six stars

I love how the story evolves, and your skills with it. I cant decide which I like more, the story creation or the combat, each mode is delightfully entertaining. Ive had two issues, the first was when I installed the game a notification popped up saying "iPhone 4s detected, gameplay might be negatively affected" which I found strange because Im playing on a iPhone 6. The second is that the game freezes occasionally, Im on the 2nd chapter of act 2 and the game has frozen twice on me so far. Even with the issues Ive had, if I could give this game more than 5 stars I would. Thank you Joe Dever, I love this game!!!

Best RPG

This game has quickly become my favorite RPG on the iPad - and I have played many! Fighting is very challenging, story is excellent, and the graphics and visuals are incredible. Occasional crashing when other apps are still running, which is totally understandable. Very impressed with this game!

Good use of cutscene fights

I forget what these are called but its set up pretty well here.

Not my cup of tea

Deleted during the first battle due to extreme boredom. Too much text combined with not enough explanation on how to play make this book (not even close to a game) just not fun. Great use of prose though!
